Storm clouds over Santa Barbara
An unseasonable storm sat over the mountains above Santa Barbara for much of Memorial Day Weekend. Not much rain fell, just drizzle, but it was connected to the storm that caused tornados near Riverside.

Centipede or Millipede?
I think it bites.. I didn't touch it. We thought it was a Centipede but the internet thinks it's a North American Millepede
Huge Yellow Buckeye Tree
This is an enormous yellow buckeye growing in the mountains of northern Georgia.
The buckeyes back in California sure don't look like that!
Atlanta Skyline with Tornado Damage
See the dark spots on that middle building? Those are windows that were blown out by a tornado a few weeks ago!
A few hours after I left there was anther tornado north of town. It went towards Eli's house and he had to hide from it, but by the time the storm got there, the tornado was gone.

Great Salt Lake
It really is quite salty. It looked like soft sand out to the water so we went barefoot... but most of the area past the plants were covered in sharp salt crystals.
Sara and Sand
Sara checking the sand of the Great Salt lake to see if the grains are round (they aren't here but are in other areas near the lake)

Clouds and Apartment
Last week these clouds drifted over Ventura during a heat wave. They looked like summer 'monsoon' clouds. No thunderstorms accompanied them but today there were some scattered thunderstorms in the mountains. None made it to Ventura.
