This pond is at about 2500 feet of elevation and in a cold air drainage area. Thus, there was more snow (about an inch) and the pond was mostly frozen.

It hasn't snowed enough to stick in Burlington yet, but in the Green Mountains it has! The dusting of fall snow here was amazing.
