This rugged ridge was the last stronghold of the California Condor. It is a land of inacessable sandstone outcroppings, deep canyons, and mountains covered in bigcone doug-fir. A decade or two ago, all the condors were rounded up for captive breeding, but recently young condors have been rereleased to roam the canyons. Unfortunately they love flying into urbanized areas and eating garbage.
