The summer monsoon is in full force over the high mountains of southern California. These thunderstorms almost never make their way down to the Santa Monica Mountains, at least not in a state which is still producing rain or lightning. However, many afternoons in July and August, the storms can be seen in the distance to the north and east.

They can be rather frustrating, because when they form it is often at least 90 degrees in the lowlands, but the storms offer no relief.

Incidentally, my camera is missing, so there won't be many pictures until i find it. (these were from the work camera)
