This ranch near I-5 is one of my areas I work... I wrote up a restoration plan to fix some huge gullies that were eroding away the meadows nearby. It's at the base of a 5700' mountain, and used to be a privately owned ranch. The Forest Service acquired it, but there is still one semi-tame horse that runs around there.
